I’ve been taking a break from the gym and New Rules of Lifting for Women lately. There are a few reasons, one of which being that I just wanted to switch things up. I also have been loving Focus T25 and being able to work out at home on occasion. We also have Riley now, and crating her is just a pain if I don’t have to do it.
But I think the biggest and best reason of all is that now my runs don’t hurt. I know that strength training is important for running, and I did notice my mile times get faster. But I also noticed that I was constantly fatigued. I thought that was going to end after the marathon!
For the past 2 weeks, I’ve gone to the gym to do weights only once. And you know what? Running doesn’t suck! I was getting really discouraged with running because I was always tired and always in pain. How do you train for the Dopey Challenge if you’re always in pain?
Yesterday I ran 7.5 miles, the farthest I’ve run in almost 2 months. And it was actually pretty enjoyable! Woohoo!
Yesterday we also finally finished putting away all the stuff that had been piled up in our dining room. We don’t actually have a dining table yet, but we’re storing my sister’s from her college apartment which at least fills the space a bit until we get what we want.
In other news, Riley is a little baby. I love this pup!
And Oakley is just weird.
On August 25th, my next fitness support group is beginning. If you want to join, comment here or send me an email!
